Melané (pronounced meh-LAH-nay) was inspired by the strength, resilience, warmth, and beauty rooted within melanated communities and the belief that healing begins with feeling truly seen, heard, valued, and supported.

Melané Psychiatry & Wellness was created to offer a more thoughtful and connected approach to care for adults navigating anxiety, burnout, ADHD, stress, emotional wellness concerns, and long-term health challenges. The practice combines mental health support, physical wellness, and lifestyle-focused care in one personalized experience designed to help people feel safe, understood, and cared for as a whole person.

Founded by Lenise, a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience across primary care, urgent care, and behavioral health, care is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual’s needs.

Virtual care for common non-emergent health concerns appropriate for telehealth treatment.

ESA Letter Evaluation

Medical leave documentation provided when clinically appropriate.

Work or school accommodation evaluations and documentation based on clinical assessment.

Required intake and consent forms will be sent separately via email and must be completed prior to your evaluation. Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled if forms are not completed before your visit. If you do not receive your forms within 24 hours, please check your spam folder or contact our office.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, Melané Psychiatry & Wellness operates as a self-pay practice. However, we can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit directly to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual insurance plan.

What is a superbill and how does it work?

A superbill is a detailed receipt of services that includes the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may receive partial reimbursement directly from your insurance provider.

Are appointments in person or virtual?

All appointments are conducted 100% virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and stress-related concerns, along with medical weight management.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes, medications are prescribed when clinically appropriate. Treatment is always personalized based on your needs and goals.

Do you prescribe controlled substances for ADHD?

When appropriate, ADHD treatment may include medication. However, prescribing decisions are based on a thorough evaluation and in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Prescriptions are not guaranteed.

Do you offer weight loss treatment?

Yes, we offer medical weight management, including lifestyle support and GLP-1 therapies when appropriate.

Can I request an ESA letter or other documentation?

Documentation such as ESA letters, FMLA forms, and accommodations are provided only after a clinical evaluation and when medically appropriate.

How long are appointments?

Initial evaluations typically last 45–60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes.

How soon can I be seen?

Appointment availability varies, but we strive to offer timely access to care. You can view availability and book directly online.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation where we discuss your history, current concerns, and goals. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan.

Is this a good fit for me?
